Obama Plans Georgia Fundraiser
ATLANTA (AP) -- Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama is coming to Georgia.

The Illinois senator will headline a July 7 fundraiser in Atlanta. It'll be Obama's first trip to the Peach State since he clinched his party's nomination.

Tickets are $2,300 per person for a general reception and $10,000 for a VIP gathering. The event is a joint fundraiser for Obama and the Democratic National Committee.

Obama coasted to a win in Georgia in the state's Feb. 5 presidential primary, easily defeating Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, of New York.

While Georgia is viewed as a Republican stronghold, Obama has pledged to give John McCain, his GOP rival, a run a for his money.

Obama aides are on the ground registering voters, especially among the state's large black population.
