Growing up in America, Kennedy was a household name. My Kennedy experience started with a young man, not unlike Senator Obama, called John Fitzgerald Kennedy. A new generation of Hope, youth and wisdom. Then the unique style and class of Jackie. This was my introduction to Rose and Joe Kennedy, mom and dad that gave us this family, thank you.

John, Bobby, Teddy....gave this country unmeasurable service. Their wives and children all in their way carried the torch. They are an American family that has given so much to America that we can never repay them nor can we find proper words to express our love for the family.

Through all the good times, tragedies, assasinations, weddings, births and deaths...there was Ted Kennedy. The Lion King that protected his kingdom and provided direction and guidance, the quintessential Warrior, Highly respected and loved.

His soaring spirit, his humor, his energy his perserverance.... Through it all he has stood tall..

Now he faces a different kind of challenge, one I am sure he will fight with the same humor and class that he has shown the world. It is my hope that this too shall pass.

Because we always knew about their family I felt that I was family and "Uncle Teddy" was my Uncle, because He is ours......the family has always belonged to America.... and for that we are greatful.

The greatest gift is to give your life in service.... that Ted has always done.
